# Claude Development Notes

## Port Configuration
- Frontend runs on port 5174 (Vite dev server)
- Backend server MUST run on port 3002 (HTTPS enabled)
- This is configured in .env file with PORT=3002
- Frontend connects to https://tonypanariello.com:3002 via proxy

## Important: Port 3002 is configured with HTTPS using SSL certificates
1. Backend uses HTTPS server with SSL certificates from /certs/
2. Vite proxy routes /api requests to https://tonypanariello.com:3002
3. Socket.io connection configured for HTTPS

## Common Commands
- Start both servers: `npm run dev`
- Backend only: `npm run server:dev` 
- Frontend only: `npm run client:dev`

## Testing
- Run linting: `npm run lint` (if available)
- Check for type errors: `npm run typecheck` (if available)
